Jonathan Staley is a business attorney with in-house and large firm experience and is the principal of The Law Office of Jonathan Staley, which provides legal services directly to corporate clients either in place of or in support of existing outside counsel.

Jon specializes in the development and project finance of US and International solar energy facilities. He has extensive experience structuring, negotiating and financing PV solar project companies and investment funds. Jon is the VP of Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel of Shine Development Partners, a national US solar developer focused on the commercial, municipal and non-profit markets.

In addition to experience managing the legal department of multiple national U.S. solar energy development companies, Jon has served as the primary corporate counsel to clients in renewable energy, consulting, IT services, software development, non-profit fundraising, and commercial art space. He has extensive experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements (including leases, licensing agreements and vendor contracts), raising equity, securing debt, negotiating insurance, advising on taxation issues, securing IP rights, drafting foundational agreements and corporate governance.
