Jonathan Staley is a business attorney with in-house and large firm experience and is the principal of The Law Office of Jonathan Staley, which provides legal services directly to corporate clients and emerging businesses, either in place of or in support of existing corporate counsel.
Jon specializes in the development of US and International solar energy facilities. He has extensive experience structuring, negotiating and financing PV solar project companies and investment funds. Jon is a founding partner in MegaSolar LLC, a Latin American solar developer.
In addition to experience managing the legal department of a national U.S. solar energy development company, Jon has served on the management team or as senior advisor to several early-stage and developing businesses in industries ranging from renewable energy, to consulting firms, to the commercial art space. He has extensive experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements (including leases, licensing agreements and vendor contracts), raising equity, securing debt, negotiating insurance, advising on taxation issues, securing IP rights, drafting foundational agreements and corporate governance.
